Cozumel and its beautiful beaches
Cozumel is a beautiful island in the caribbean part of Mexico. It is part
of the “Riviera Maya”, a touristic district which is visited every year for millions of tourists from all over the world. It is surrounded by beautiful white sand and turquoise water building a long shore of wonderful beaches.

Among them you can find Playa El Cielo, often described as one of the best
options in Cozumel to go and spend your vacations. With crystalline waters it is frequented by the people who like snorkeling and see the starfishes. But there is also Playa San Francisco, where you can enjoy one of the bests piña coladas in the world and see a very hilarious parrot who stands on the table and starts talking to you. It is a highly recommended beach where you can find a big variety of services such as photo shoots and different options of aquatic activities.
Playa Palancar is the best public beach in Cozumel, you can also practice
snorkeling there and enjoy the magnificent Mesoamerican Coralreef. Playa Corona in the southern shore zone is a small and quiet place to be in peace and far from the crowd, a place where you definitely can connect with the nature. There is the Chankanaab coralreef just 100
meters from the seashore.
Playa Uvas in the other hand is a private beach which is characterized for his offer of doing kayak on transparent plexiglass, so you can see everything underneath you and enjoy good drinks. Near Punta Celarain and in the southern extreme, there is located Playa Encantada. With a lighthouse that enchants and dominates the whole place, it is also one of
the loneliest beaches in Cozumel. With a perfect weather, refreshing waves and a huge space to do long hikes is a wonderful place to relax and go to see the archaeological zone of El Caracol.
Playa San Juan is located in the North Hotel Zone, 5 km from the center of Cozumel and is a small coastline perfect to practice horseback riding, tennis and hiking. In addition, you can find good comforts at the best prices: lounge chairs, restaurants with the most varied food, hammocks, swimming pool and exclusive areas for snorkeling. Its small size makes this beach a comforting corner but equipped with all the services and activities that you can just imagine to find.
But there is also Playa San Martin! “The nude turtle” as it is known. Playa
San Martin is the oldest beach in Cozumel and due to the erosion the water is keeping more and more space from the sand everytime, however it is a good place to stop and have a delicious drink while your going through the island.
Playa Las Tortugas located in the Carretera Costera Sur Km. 8.3, in the
South Hotel Zone, is one of the private beaches of Cozumel. The beach has first class places to eat with meals from the most exotic to the simplest. Even if it’s a private beach, you don’t have the obligation to consume or use the services.
With its funny name, Playa Chen Río is one of the most beautiful beaches destinations in Cozumel and the Riviera Maya. Located in the in
the east it is characterized because among its waters, little “swimming pools” of warm water are formed by a lines of little rocks. It takes its name after and old river that dissapeared. You can also find Playa Caletita Located in the historic center of Cozumel, it is well known for the
lighthouse that is nearby and the restaurant (of the same name) that is at the entrance.
