Cozumel is the largest island of the Mexican Caribbean with about 100 thousand inhabitants, its name comes from the Maya Kosom Lumil which means “Land of the Swallows”.
It has the largest reef in America and the 2nd largest in the world after Australia. Its crystalline waters attract thousands of tourists throughout the year as they have incredible natural beauties and hundreds of marine species full of color, making scuba diving their main attraction. Cozumel has also been characterized in recent years as an island that promotes the sport, as well as being the safest tourist destination in Mexico, bringing in competitions such as IronMan 70.3, IronMan, ITU, OceanMan, among others.
